May 2018 – Official Opening of Linton’s new Village Green
In May 2018, Linton saw the official opening of its new Village Green on land adjacent to and owned by the Linton Memorial Hall and Linton Tennis Club. The opening ceremony saw the unveiling of a stone plaque by (from left to right) special guests Christopher Hall, Margaret Gomersal and Rev Canon Rachel Stowe, all members of the Hall family who donated land to the village to enable the construction of the Memorial Hall 65 years ago.
This opening is the culmination of the Collingham with Linton Parish Council’s Linton Green Space project and Parish Councillor Angela Martin was on hand to show the guests the new facilities which include a new pedestrian bridge, seating areas for grown-ups and a circle of mushroom seats built specially for younger visitors.
The new Linton Village Green is dedicated ‘in memory of our village soldiers’.
